Jeannette Anna Messmer, age 78 of St. Henry, Indiana, passed away at 7:55 a.m. on Monday, December 25, 2017 at the Waters of Huntingburg.

Jeannette was born in Jasper, Indiana on July 22, 1939 to Edwin and Gertrude (Merkel) Heldman.  She married Irwin Messmer on May 7, 1958 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.  He preceded her in death on July 11, 1991.

She retired from OFS Brands in Huntingburg.

She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are three daughters, Phyllis Messmer, Huntingburg, Elizabeth Messmer, St. Henry, and Debbie Denu, Huntingburg, two sons, Kenny Messmer (Bonnie), Huntingburg, and Randy Messmer, Huntingburg, seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one sister Willa Mae Underhill, Huntingburg.

Preceding her in death beside her husband were two sons, Harold and Larry Messmer, one brother, James Heldman, one sister Laverne Holst, and one great grandchild, Nathan Messmer.

A Mass of Christian Burial of Jeannette Anna Messmer will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, IN.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, the American Alzheimer’s Association, or a favorite charity.
