The report of an individual suffering a panic attack while driving on Jasper’s westside Sunday morning ended with the arrest of a Kentucky man on a charge of Operating While Under the Influence of drugs after he pulled over in a church parking lot to await medical attention.

Jasper Police say at around 10 am Sunday Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services received a report of a male stating that he was having a panic attack while driving.

Police say the man, 30-year old Christopher Lutz of Corydon Kentucky pulled over into the Precious Blood Church parking lot to wait for EMS.

While waiting, police say he admitted to using methamphetamine earlier that morning.

He was taken to Memorial Hospital for a blood draw, which police say returned presumptively positive for amphetamines.

Lutz was taken to and booked into the Dubois County Security Center on a Class A Misdemeanor charge of OWI and a Level 5 felony charge of Unlawful possessio of a firearm on school property
