The Huntingburg Police Department saw the addition of two new officers along with the promotion of three others.
Steffen Zink and Teresa Bowling took their oaths during a swearing in ceremony Thursday morning during the Huntingburg Board of Public Work’s monthly meeting at Huntingburg City Hall.
Zink spent the last 10 months as an officer with the Ferdinand Police Department before he joined the Huntingburg Department last month.
Prior to joining HPD in December, Bowling served two years as a dispatcher and jailer at the Pike County Security Center.
Thursday morning the board also approved the promotions of Brad Kramer as Assistant Police Chief, Tyler Stivers as Detective Sergeant and Rusty Drew to the newly created position of Narcotics Officer.
Kramer has been with the Huntingburg Department since April of 2012. prior to that he spent one year with the Ferdinand Police Department.
He is a 2010 graduate of Vincennes University with an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement. He is also graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in September of 2012.
Stivers was hired by the Huntingburg Police Department in January of 2015.
He spent 6 years in the United States Air Force and attended the Community College of the Air Force and Security Forces Training Center.
Drew has served the Huntingburg Police Department since 2011. His father Ron Drew is a former Huntingburg police chief.
The Huntingburg Police Department now has a total of 14 members.
