Two Jasper men are behind bars after surveillance footage showed the men allegedly stealing from a drop box outside of the St. Vincent DePaul Store in Jasper.

Employees with St. Vincent Depaul contacted the Jasper Police about thefts of items from their drop box area on two separate occasions.

After reviewing the video footage from the store, Officers were able to identify the vehicle associated with the thefts.

At approximately 4 p.m. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the owner, 47-year-old John Bickwermert.

Police were able to determine that Bickwermert drove the truck while his roommate 38-year-old Chad Klein took the items from the store on both occasions.

Klein was located at his residence. Bickwermert and Klein were taken into custody and charged with Theft. Both were booked into the Dubois Co Security Center.

Most of the stolen items were recovered from the Conrad Ave residence and returned to St. Vincent DePaul.
