Verlin C. Kenworthy, age 91 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.

Verlin was born in Richmond, Indiana on September 27, 1926 to Robert and Hazel (Bryant) Kenworthy.  He married Naomi Stetter on September 13, 1951 in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mars Hill, IN

Verlin served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and the Korean War.  He was a lifetime member and past Post Commander of the VFW Post #673 and served on their Honor Guard Detail.

Verlin was in the automotive tool business throughout his life, working for SunEquipment, then selling Snap-On and Matco tools, and retiring from Jasper Engines.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors, playing poker, and spending time with friends and family.

Surviving is his wife, Naomi Kenworthy of Jasper, two daughters; Carol Wonnell, Lebanon, IN, Kathleen Mantione (Joe) Boulder, CO, three sons; Robert Kenworthy (Tessie), San Diego, CA, Randall Kenworthy, Nashville, GA,  and Ronald Kenworthy (Cathy) Louisville, KY, twelve grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were two sisters, Norma Jane “Janie” Eversole, Jeanette Terrell, and one brother Eugene Kenworthy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Verlin C. Kenworthy will be held at Noon on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana. The VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites at church with burial to follow in Patoka Lake Memorial Cemetery in French Lick , IN.  .

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, IN and from 10:00 a.m. until the Noon service time at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or a favorite charity.
