Irma K. Sermersheim, age 99, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.

Irma was born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on December 9, 1918, to Joseph A. and Ottilla (Heitz) Schulte.  She married Leroy A. Sermersheim on Nov. 16, 1940, at St. Meinrad, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on February 28, 1989.

Irma was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

She enjoyed bird watching, puzzles and crossword puzzles.

Surviving are one daughter, Elaine M. (Tom) Kluesner, Jasper, IN, three sons, Fred J. (Nora) Sermersheim, Jasper, IN, Ronald E. Sermersheim, Jasper, IN, and Kevin S. (Cindy) Sermersheim, Loogootee, IN, nine grandchildren, Fred Jr., Brian, Mandy, Laura, Chris, Tatum, Brock, Doug and Wade, nine great grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, Jared, Breann, Andrew, Lane, Cade, Xavier, and Grant.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are two sons, Gregory A. and David L. Sermersheim, and two sisters, Irene Tewell and Juanita Tretter.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Irma K. Sermersheim will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
