Lenora M. Heilers, 91 of Ferdinand passed away Sunday March 11th at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. Lenora was born July 9, 1926 to John & Theresia (Gogel) Daunhauer in Mariah Hill, In. She was united in marriage to Irvin J. Heilers on October 19, 1946 in Atlanta, GA.  He preceded her in death on April 19, 2004.

Lenora was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church and its St. Ann’s Sodlaity. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flower garden, baking, cooking, and being with family & friends.

Surviving are two daughters, Joyce (Elmer) Fromme and Mary (Dan) Schum both of Ferdinand. Two sons, Gene (Nancy) Heilers of Wheaton, IL. and Pat (Denise) Heilers of Ferdinand. Ten grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren also survive. Two sisters, Ardella Wilmes of Jasper and Bernida Jochim of Mariah Hill. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Allen Heilers, granddaughter, Chelsea Schum in infancy. Three brothers, Thomas “Pat”, Paul “Jeff” and Clarence Daunhauer, Five sisters, Rose Bitzer, Phyllis Dilger, Verena Bettag, Agnes Schum, and Cornelia Boehman.

Funeral services for Lenora M. Heilers will be held Friday March 16th in Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church at 10:00 AM with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday and from 7 to 9:30 AM Friday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
