A traffic stop in Gibson County this past weekend lead to the arrest of a Jasper woman who was wanted on a warrant out of Dubois County and is now facing additional charges in Gibson.

Shortly before 9 o’clock central time Sunday morning, a deputy with the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on a passenger car after authorities say the vehicle was traveling left of center.

Upon approaching the vehicle the deputy attempted to identify two females, but they say a passenger began to act erratic and would not cooperate with authorities.

They say the passenger gave a false name in an attempt to hinder an investigation by police, but was eventually identified as 20-year old Cassidy Engleman of Jasper.

During his investigation the deputy discovered that Engleman had active Felony warrants through Dubois County for Trafficking with an inmate, Possession of Methamphetamines, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Synthetic Substance, and Possession of Paraphernalia.

At that point Engleman was taken to and booked into the Gibson County Jail where she was also charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, False Identity Statement, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Paraphernalia with a Prior Conviction, and Possession of Marijuana.
