Former Washington Street Commissioner Ernie Evans has filed to run for city council.

Evans will be running for one of the two council At-Large spot in the May 2019 Primary Municipal Election.

The two At-Large seats are currently held by Democrat Blake Chambers and Republican David Dahl. Evans is running as a Democrat.

Evans retired from the street department last year. He spent 20 years in the department, 10 as commissioner.

He says he’ll be a good steward of taxpayer money having gained experience in his years working for the city.
