The city of Rockport recently finished over a half-million dollars worth of renovations to an old building on Main Street and as a result, a Ferdinand brewing company may just expand to the far southern Spencer County community.

St. Benedict’s Brew Works owner Vince Luecke, a Spencer County native says it’s appealing and that while they are very successful in Ferdinand, they have been looking for another location for a taproom that they could serve beer in and have some food service.

Luecke is excited to make the expansion happen and hopes that the people of Rockport will welcome his service with open arms.

He says they’re not going to be a 3 or 4 AM taproom, but he says they will be open afternoons and evenings probably till about 10 or 11 o’clock. Midnight on weekends. Luecke says he feels they will offer a little bit of nightlife for Rockport.

Luecke hopes to have the new location in Rockport open by the end of the summer.
