Do you have a family history of cancer? Do you have a gene that tends to run in your family? Gynecologist Steven Hopf, M.D. will present “Exploring Genetic Testing” on Thursday, May 2 from 7 – 8 p.m. in the Medical Arts Conference Center located in the Medical Arts Building, 721 W. 13th Street in Jasper. He will discuss genetic testing for breast, ovary, and other cancers, reasons to be tested, and the pros and cons of knowing if you have a gene that increases risks. Laurelin Doty will also share her personal experience of carrying the BRCA gene for breast cancer.

A native of Jasper, Indiana, Dr. Hopf earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Indiana University School of Medicine where he also completed his Obstetrics/Gynecology residency education. Dr. Hopf joined the Memorial Hospital Medical Staff in 1997 and is board certified in OB/GYN.
