NSA Crane hosted a building dedication in honor of Lance Corporal Alec R. Terwiske on today at the NSA Crane Visitors Center.

A number of speakers addressed the crowd to honor the fallen Marine from Dubois County, including U.S. Senator Todd Young, U.S. Senator Mike Braun, along with other Marines and Alec’s own mother, Sandy Terwiske.

Northeast Dubois High School band played a number of patriotic songs for the crowd as the NSA Crane Visitors Center was honored as the Lance Corporal Alec Terwiske, USMC Memorial Facility.

Senator Todd Young said that this is a way for Alec’s memory and sacrifice to be remembered as many enter the facility for years to come.

Lance Corporal Terwiske was killed in action on September 3, 2012, by an improvised explosive device while serving in Afghanistan. He was born July 6, 1991, in Jasper, Indiana, and graduated from Northeast Dubois High School in 2010. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps that same year.
