A Huntingburg man was taken into custody Friday night after police responded to a report of a domestic battery incident.

According to responding officers, a female plaintiff was transported to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for chest pain.

The suspect, 34-year-old Balmer E. Salazar, reportedly left on foot but was later located returning to the scene.

Salazar was booked into the Dubois County Security Center early Saturday morning on preliminary misdemeanor counts of domestic battery and resisting law enforcement.
