Daviess County is now under a burn ban. This burn ban will last until October 15th. Come that day, conditions will be assessed again to see if a new ban needs to be put in place.

Daviess County now joins Dubois, Pike, Warrick, Martin, Spencer, Perry, Crawford, Washington, and Orange counties under the current series of burn bans.

While under this ban, all campfires, recreational fires, open burning using conventional fuel like wood or combustible matter, burning debris, and using burn barrels are all prohibited.

Charcoal from permitted grills cannot be removed until the charcoal is thoroughly extinguished.

All residents are asked to comply with these emergency measures. This ban will last until fire chiefs say it is safe to be lifted.

Residents in counties that are not included in this burn ban are urged to practice fire safety.
