Thanksgiving is officially less than one week away! And you can even save a few dollars on your Thanksgiving meal.

The Indiana Farm Bureau’s annual Thanksgiving Market Basket Survey says Hoosiers can expect to spend approximately 10% less at grocery stores on their Turkey Day essentials.

This year’s survey shows the average cost for a Thanksgiving dinner for 10 including 12 traditional items is $42.66, or $4.26 per person. That is 10% cheaper than in 2018.

According to the American Farm Bureau, turkey wholesale prices are up significantly this year. This decrease in consumer turkey prices can be attributed to competition between retailers trying to draw customers into their stores for the holiday.
