A group of hikers is back home safely after an adventure turned out to be more than they bargained for.

Perry County Central Dispatch received a call from a lost hiker in the German Ridge Area around 5:30 pm Wednesday.

Perry County Sheriff Alan Malone, EMA Director Steve Hauser, and deputies arrived shortly after receiving the call.

The lost hikers were located by 6:53 pm and brought out safely to their vehicle.
