(Petersburg, IN) The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced an upcoming closure to State Road 56, near Petersburg, that will begin on or around Thursday, August 31, 2023. At that time the Pike County Closure to State Road 56 will be effective to allow crews to perform a culvert replacement.

An official detour for this project has been designated as State Road 57 to State Road 61 to State Road 241 to U.S. 41, however, access to the point of closure will be available to local traffic.

The project is expected to be complete within one day barring unforeseen events or weather-related delays.
