Rita F. VonEschen, age 60 of Dubois, Indiana, passed away at 11 am on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at home surrounded by family.

Rita was born in Jasper, Indiana on December 31, 1963, to Luther and Lorena (Potts) Keller.  She married Kenneth VonEschen on July 13, 2001, in Dubois County.

She was a homemaker and worked for Kimball International Artec for several years.  

Rita was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads.

She enjoyed crafts, being outdoors in her bare feet, bird watching, reading, calligraphy writing, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband, Kenneth VonEschen of Dubois, and four sons; Nathan Gist, Haysville, Luke Gist (Amanda), Pottsville, PA, Adam Gist (Dr. Michaela), Elk Grove, CA, and Justin Keller (Autumn Bradley), Jasper, eleven grandchildren, one sister, Diane Arnold (Scott), Chrisney, IN, and three sister-in-law’s, Jane Keller, Palmer Alaska, Barb Schmidt, Jasper, and Judy VonEschen, Parma, Idaho.   

Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister; Patricia Keller, and four brothers; Art Keller, Mike Keller, Steve Keller and her twin brother, Randy Keller.

Funeral Services for Rita F. VonEschen will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 9, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads, with burial to follow at Emanual Hill Cemetery in Dubois.

A visitation will be held from 3 pm until 7 pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Becher-Kluesner Northside Chapel in Jasper, and from 10 am until 11 am service time at the church on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Emanuel Hill Church Cemetery, or a favorite charity.
