Ray Allen Heilman, age 75, of Newburgh, passed away on July 27, 2024.

He was born January 4th, 1949, to Omar and Eleanor (Kaetzel) Heilman, in Dale, Indiana. Ray was a graduate of Dale High School and Indiana State University. He was an English teacher at Delphi Middle School for a short time. He left that position to enter the business world. He later worked at Highsmith Floral and Long’s Wholesale Floral Supply. 

Ray resided in Indianapolis for most of his adult life. He moved to Newburgh 4 years ago to be closer to family. Most recently, he has been the pianist and an active participant at Yankeetown United Methodist Church.

Ray is survived by his sisters; Vera (Charles) Huffman, of Newburgh; Karen (Wayne) Goodwine, of Bedford; and brother Marvin (Nancy) Heilman, of Newburgh. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Gene & Ethel Heilman; and brother Darrel Heilman.

Funeral services for Ray Allen Heilman will be held at 12:00 p.m., C.S.T., Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Fuller Funeral Home in Dale. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., C.S.T., Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.   Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
