Orange County REMC has issued a warning to the public following reports of a recent phone scam. A member of the cooperative received a fraudulent call from an individual claiming to represent Orange County REMC, requesting credit card information and immediate payment.

The cooperative emphasizes that Orange County REMC will never ask for payment directly over the phone. Instead, payments are processed through a secure, automated system that requires account information before transactions are completed.

Customers who receive such calls are advised to hang up and contact Orange County REMC directly using their official phone number. Member Service Representatives (MSRs) are available to assist and verify any concerns.
