The Friends of the Ferdinand Library are hosting their August 2024 Monthly Book Sale this upcoming weekend.
The Book Sale will be held on Saturday, August 10th, from 10 AM to 1 PM, and the sale can be entered from either the library’s main floor or through the north side doors off of the Ferdinand Community Center parking lot.
This month there will be a Half-Price Sale on all romance books, travel books, cookbooks, and large print books; as well as on CDs, DVDs, and Audio Books. There are also sales where all books on the Kennedy family are only a quarter, and older puzzles or puzzles missing just a few pieces are priced at $.50 each or 3 for $1.
Customers can check out several feature areas including unopened VHS tapes only available this month, several selections about returning to the classroom in time for the back-to-school season, a table devoted to potential hobbies and DIY interests for adults, and a wide variety of music-related items such as biographies of musicians, books of sheet music, music history, how to play various instruments, CDs, music videos, and collectible sheet music from the early 1900s.
Outside of things to purchase, there will be a table of school supplies for each child who attends to choose from, plus an opportunity to vote on the name of the friend’s cute stuffed turtle.
Items not included in the Half-Price Sale have hardback books priced at $1; paperbacks at $.50, and children’s books, puzzles, games, and collectibles are variously priced. At this time, the Friends can only accept cash or checks for purchases.
Donations of gently used books, DVDs, and puzzles are always welcomed by the Friends and can be donated in a bin located at the back of the library near the basement door. They cannot accept encyclopedias, textbooks, magazines, or outdated informational books. They would also appreciate not including musty, dusty, or stained books in your donations.
To keep track of the Friends of the Ferdinand Library visit their Facebook page where posts of newly-donated items regularly appear on the page.
