In a post made to the Perry County Sherriff’s Office Facebook Page, it was reported that on Saturday, August 31st, 2024, at approximately 04:50 AM, Perry County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Addison Dam Road and North State Road 66 for a single-vehicle accident.

The preliminary investigation showed that a 2005 Ford F250, driven by 35-year-old, Travis N. Drake, of Rome, Indiana, was traveling southwest on State Road 66 when it struck a construction barricade, causing the truck to roll. Drake was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
