Alyssa McPherron, a recent Southridge High School graduate, was awarded a $500 scholarship from the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC), sponsored by SRI, Inc. The scholarship was presented to her mother, Jaclyn McPherron, on Alyssa’s behalf at the Dubois County Government Annex building.

Alyssa is the daughter of Stephen and Jaclyn McPherron. Her mother, Jaclyn, serves as the Dubois County Recorder. This fall, Alyssa will attend Purdue University to pursue a degree in Pharmacy.

The AIC awarded four $500 scholarships to students across the state. The recipients are spring 2024 high school graduates from Indiana who plan to attend an in-state institution of higher education in the fall of 2024. Eligibility for the scholarship required that applicants be employed by or be the custodial child of an Indiana county employee affiliated with an AIC member office.

The scholarship recipients will be recognized at the AIC Annual Conference next month and at county commissioners’ meetings in each winner’s home county. For more information about the scholarships, contact Elizabeth Mallers at emallers@indianacounties.org.
