A benefit event to honor the life and memory of Emerald Eckstein Guard will take place on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the VFW in Huntingburg, Indiana. The event will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. EST and aims to assist Guard’s family with medical and end-of-life expenses following her recent passing due to complications from a chronic illness.

The benefit will feature dine-in and carry-out options, including hamburgers, brats, baked beans, and coleslaw, along with desserts and drinks. A silent auction will also be held, with winners announced at 4 p.m. All proceeds from the event will go toward helping the family cover funeral costs.

Guard was remembered as a light in her community, freely giving her support and love to those around her. Now, the community is invited to come together in her memory and provide support for her loved ones during this challenging time.

For those wishing to attend or contribute, the event will take place at the VFW in Huntingburg, and all contributions will directly benefit Guard’s family.
