The Dubois County Humane Society (DCHS) is offering free spay and neuter services for up to 18 cats residing in the 47527 zip code, thanks to a grant from Athletes for Animals. This initiative aims to control the local cat population ahead of kitten season. Online registration opens at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, February 10, and spots are limited to two cats per household on a first-come, first-served basis.

A $15 reservation fee is required. Cats must be current on rabies vaccinations; if not, owners will need to cover the cost of vaccination. However, the spay/neuter service itself is free.

Residents are encouraged to register promptly due to limited availability. For questions or more information, please contact the Dubois County Humane Society located at 426 Wernsing Road, Jasper, IN 47546, by phone at 812-482-7387.

This program reflects DCHS’s ongoing commitment to animal welfare in Dubois County.
