Daviess Community Hospital has announced Justin Harris, MSHA, MBA, FACHE, has been selected for and has accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer. Harris will officially join the hospital on July 1st as an employee of Ascension, in alignment with DCH’s affiliation with Ascension St. Vincent.

Harris brings extensive experience across the Southeast and Indiana, most recently serving in a leadership role for a large physician-owned surgical group based in Evansville. Over the past two years, he led the expansion of the organization to more than 26 surgeons and 20 mid-level providers, serving all Evansville metro hospitals, including two Level II trauma centers, and extending services into several rural hospitals across Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois.

Prior to his leadership in Evansville, Harris served as CEO and CFO of a $70 million musculoskeletal organization comprised of outpatient clinics and a surgery center. Earlier in his career, he held multiple C-suite roles in both for-profit and not-for-profit rural hospitals, driven by a passion for advancing high-quality healthcare close to home through strategic development and positive change.

Harris holds a Master of Science in Health Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, home to the nation’s top-ranked program for healthcare administration. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and actively serves on the boards of the Indiana Medical Group Management Association and the Indiana Physicians Health Alliance. He is also a member of the Indiana Rural Health Association and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
