Traffic patterns on the Lloyd Expressway in Evansville will shift next week as the major construction project enters its final phase. Beginning Tuesday, May 13, motorists traveling between Boeke Road and Green River Road will be redirected to newly constructed sections of roadway while crews complete work on the outside lanes.

The Indiana Department of Transportation confirms that two lanes will remain open in each direction throughout this traffic phase, maintaining capacity on this heavily traveled corridor that serves thousands of daily commuters between Evansville and Dubois County.

The traffic shift marks the final construction stages at the Stockwell Road and Lloyd Expressway intersection. The new displaced left turn/boulevard left turn intersection design is scheduled to open this summer, representing a significant upgrade to traffic flow in the area.

During this phase, drivers will maintain access to and from Vann Avenue and Stockwell Road, though westbound Lloyd Expressway travelers will not be able to make left turns onto southbound Stockwell Road. Division Street will remain closed throughout this construction phase.

Transportation officials advise motorists to observe all posted signage and to exercise caution while navigating through the construction zone. For more information about the intersection design and project updates, drivers can visit the project website.
