The Community Foundation of Crawford County has announced its 2025 grant recipients, backing local projects that strengthen historical preservation, agricultural infrastructure, and environmental sustainability.

One of this year’s recipients is the Friends of the Marengo Big Springs Old Town Church. Their grant will support interior restoration efforts at the 167-year-old church in downtown Marengo. The project aims to preserve the building’s original features while preparing it to serve as a future community center and educational venue, celebrating Marengo’s rich historical legacy.

The Crawford County Parks Board was awarded funding for its Livestock Barn Ventilation Project at the county fairgrounds. The grant will be used to install five industrial ceiling fans to enhance air circulation and comfort within the barn. The upgrade is expected to improve conditions for animals, visitors, volunteers, and event attendees alike.

The Crawford County Solid Waste Management District also received a grant to support Electronics Amnesty Days, an initiative that offers residents a free and responsible way to dispose of old electronics and appliances. By keeping hazardous e-waste out of landfills, the program helps protect the environment and promotes safer waste disposal practices.

Through these grant awards, the Community Foundation continues to invest in the well-being, heritage, and sustainability of Crawford County.
