Leavenworth River Park in southern Crawford County is asking for help as work continues on the community’s long-planned riverfront recreation project.

The group behind the park posted that they are looking for someone with a 6-inch auger who can drill roughly 100 to 120 fence post holes at the site. They are also open to someone donating the labor if possible in order to help speed up the buildout phase.

The Leavenworth River Park effort has been an ongoing community project in recent years, with local residents and regional supporters working toward developing more public riverfront access along the Ohio River.

The concept has slowly moved from planning to hands-on construction, and volunteers have been a large part of each step.

Organizers say additional volunteer opportunities will be announced soon to assemble equipment, handle finishing work, and keep buildout momentum moving through fall.

Those interested in helping are encouraged to reach out directly.
