A Hunter Education Course is scheduled to take place later next month in Loogootee, offering participants the opportunity to earn the certification required to purchase a hunting license in Indiana.

The course will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Loogootee and will be taught by Indiana Conservation Officers along with knowledgeable volunteer instructors. Topics covered will include safe firearm use, hunter ethics, conservation management, game identification, archery, tree stand safety, and more.

Classes will be held over two sessions, beginning Friday, February 20, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and continuing Saturday, February 21, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students must attend all sessions to receive certification.

Indiana law requires anyone born after December 31, 1986, to complete a Hunter Education Course before purchasing a hunting license.
