Indiana State Police at the Jasper Post made two separate operating while intoxicated arrests Friday in Spencer and Orange counties.

Friday night, February 27, Trooper Jon Villanueva was patrolling U.S. 231 near Dale when he stopped a white 2015 Chevrolet Silverado for speeding.

During the traffic stop, the trooper observed signs of impairment while speaking with the driver, identified as 34-year-old Alejandro Avila of Evansville. 

Avila was taken to the Dale Police Department for a chemical test before being transported to the Spencer County Jail.

 He is being held on bond on a charge of Operating While Intoxicated as a Class A misdemeanor. 

Earlier Friday morning, Senior Trooper Noah Ewing conducted a traffic stop on State Road 56 in French Lick after observing a white 2019 Nissan passenger car speeding and driving left of center. 

While speaking with the driver, identified as 36-year-old Andrea L. Tarquini of Perrysville, the trooper noted visible signs of impairment. 

Tarquini was transported to IU Health Hospital in Paoli for a chemical test and later taken to the Orange County Jail, where she is being held on bond. 

She is charged with Operating While Intoxicated as a Class C misdemeanor.
