Don Barkley, age 77, of Huntingburg, passed away at 7:28 a.m., on Monday, March 28, 2016, at his home.

Don Barkley Obituary photo609_edited-1He was born October 20, 1938, in Bloomington, Indiana to James Alfred and Maude (Bradley) Barkley. He graduated with the French Lick “Red Devils” High School Class of 1956 and married Mary Ann Young on November 8, 1958, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. Don retired from Jasper Rubber Company; after which, he went to work for Casey’s General Store in Huntingburg and Walmart in Jasper where he was employed as a store greeter. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper; enjoyed restoring cars, gardening, and watching NASCAR and golf. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William Andrew Barkley; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Don Barkley will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Reverend Fr. Raymond Brenner will officiate at the funeral Mass.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday. A vigil prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Condolences may be shared online at: www.nassandson.com
