Robert E. Harris, Sr., 80, of Jasper, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.

He was born February 14, 1937, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Charles E. and Mary Elizabeth (Taylor) Harris; and was united in marriage to Joan L. Boeglin on December 26, 1959, in Shawneetown, Illinois.  Bob was employed at Whirlpool in Evansville for 41 years; was a member of the Huntingburg High School Class of 1955; and enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood working.  He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Crellis, Collis, Carlas, James, infant Charles, Ronald Ray and Gerald Harris; and three sisters, Doretha Whitledge, Marcella Reed and Alberta DeFur.

He is survived by his wife, Joan L. Harris of Jasper; four children, Brenda Volz of Dale, Robert Harris, Jr. of Oakland City, Judy Meyer of Jasper and Mary Elizabeth Bruce of Princeton; by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Interment will take place at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg and a celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date.  Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg has been entrusted with the arrangements.  Condolences may be shared with the family online at:  www.nassandson.com.
