David Joseph Fischer, age 65, of St. Anthony, Indiana, passed away at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Dave was born in Jasper, Indiana, on March 14, 1952 to Arthur J. and Lorene Rose (Blessinger) Fischer.

He was a 1970 graduate of Jasper High School.  He then graduated from Lockyear Business College.

He worked at Buehler’s Buy-Low and Save-A-Lot in Jasper for 45 years.

He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – St. Anthony Campus.

He enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are four sisters, Joan A. Schwenk (Louis), Jasper, IN, Marilyn C. English (Richard), Vincennes, IN, Diane M. Fischer, St. Anthony, IN, and Ramona A. Roach (Dale), Bloomfield, IN, two brothers, James Fischer (Shirley), and Gerald L. Fischer (Jane), both of Jasper, IN, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and one sister, Donna Elizabeth Fischer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for David Joseph Fischer will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel and one hour before services at the church on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish, Dubois County Humane Society or to a favorite charity.
