Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center is offering Creating Hope sessions on the first and second Tuesday of each month from 5:30 till 7:30 pm.

The next sessions will be held on Tuesdays, December 1 and 8.  These sessions are designed for cancer patients, their families and caregivers. Art materials and an instructional book are available at each session.  No previous art experience is needed.   

Creating Hope is an Indiana-based non-profit organization that uses creative expression as a coping mechanism for patients with cancer.  When Jeanette Shamblen, founder of Creating Hope, was diagnosed with cancer she found that she felt much better on days when she painted.

She had no previous art experience before her diagnosis.

Creating Hope sessions are free and are held in the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center Conference Room located at the Dorbett Street entrance of Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

Group size is limited, and pre-registration is required.
