OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (AP) – A southwestern Indiana man has died from injuries he sustained in a house fire that earlier claimed the lives of his wife and son.

The Jefferson County, Kentucky, Coroner’s Office says Douglas Stephens of Oakland City died Sunday. He was being treated at a Louisville hospital following the fire late Thursday. His age was not immediately available.

Thirty-year-old Connie Stephens and 10-year-old Alexander Stephens died Friday morning at Evansville-area hospitals.

Oakland City Fire Chief Jim Deffendall has said that when firefighters arrived on the scene, flames were coming out of the front of the house and the three family members were inside.
