Esther A. Weidenbenner, age 85 of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 6:18 p.m. on Sunday (December 27, 2015) at Brookside Village in Jasper, Indiana.

Weidenbenner, Esther1Esther was born on June 15, 1930 in Spencer County, Indiana to Christian and Mary (Schaeffer) Tretter. She married John Weidenbenner on July 21, 1951 in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand, IN.

She attended Dale High School.

She was a co-owner with her husband and son of Weidenbenner Eggs, Inc.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, their St. Ann’s Society and the Daughters of Isabella. She was a recipient of the Brute Award.

She was a past member of the German Club.

She enjoyed gardening, quilting, dancing, watching college basketball, and loved attending her grandchildren’s activities.

Funeral services for Esther A. Weidenbenner will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday (December 31, 2015) at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday (December 30, 2015) at Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana. The St. Mary’s St. Ann’s Society and the Daughters of Isabella will pray the rosary at 1:45 p.m.
