Members of law enforcement based in Dubois County have released numbers resulting from extra patrols that took place during an enforcement blitz over the St. Patrick’s Day holiday period.

250 law enforcement agencies from across the Hoosier State that included troopers with the Indiana State Police Jasper Post, the Jasper Police and deputies with the the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department worked to boost seat belt use and crack down on impaired drivers from March 3rd till the 27.

In mid March a sobriety checkpoint was held on the northside of Jasper near Jasper Middle School along Portersville Road. Officials say 127 vehciles were stopped and that no one was arrested.

Now anyone who observes erratic driving is encouraged to call 911 and be prepared to give a description of the vehicle involved, including it’s license number where it is located and what direction it is headed.

Overtime hours were funded by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
