Among the events that will take place is the annual 5K run and walk scheduled for 8 o’clock Saturday morning.

Ferdinand Town Manager Chris James says this year’s fest is back to a more traditional fest than last year due to last year’s celebration of the community’s 175th celebration.

James talks about activities for those who are planning to attend this weekend fest.

Those on this year’s organization committee include President-Neil Weyer, Treasurer-Sue Fink, Secretary-Vicki Meyer, Vendor Chairman-Derek Schlacter, Fundraising Chairman-Evan Daunhauer as well as valued volunteers.

The Ferdinand Heimatfest is registered as a not-for-profit organization that allows the Fest to donate back to organizations.

The primary benefactor of the Heimatfest is the Ferdinand Endowment though the Dubois County Community Foundation.

The Heimatfest mission statement is to “enable Ferdinand to prosper by helping Dubois County grow”.

Also, Town Manager James speaks on a special meeting that was held last Wednesday that included KNU LLC.

The Property will be used to construct a building for KNU LLC which is a subsidiary of Best Home Furnishings.
