Yesterday Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz issued an order for the flag at Jasper City Hall to be set at half staff in honor of the memory of former city councilman Victor Knies.

Knies passed away Tuesday at St. Mary’s medical Center in Evansville.

Flags at city hall were lowered earlier today and will remain lowered til Knies’ entombment tomorrow at the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.

Knies served on the Jasper city Council for 28 years and also was a former member of the Jasper Board of Public Works.
