Marjorie Catherine Whipking, age 88, of Huntingburg, passed away at 5:15 a.m., on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at the Northwood Good Samaritan Retirement Community in Jasper.

marjorie-whipking-obit-pic764_edited-1She was born September 30, 1928, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Matthew and Doretha (Blessinger) Blume. Marjorie was a homemaker who enjoyed being a mother and raising her children; she also enjoyed reading and writing; and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Whipking, who died in 1998; one daughter, Cheryl Hernandez; four sons, Kenneth Whipking, Richard “Rick” Whipking, and infants Danny and Steven Whipking; two sisters, Virginia Blume and Philomena Goepferich; four brothers, Roger Blume, Dave Blume, Richard Blume and Gerald “Buck” Blume; and four grandchildren, Candace, Asia, Robby and Steven.

She is survived by seven daughters and four sons-in-law, Judy Flick of Owensburg, Ind., Karen (spouse, Mark) Huff of Jasper, Ind., Janice (spouse, Leroy) Seitz of Jasper, Ind., Vicky (spouse, Tony) Hartings of Jasper, Ind., Colleen (spouse, Dana) Frick of Celestine, Ind., Angie Freeman of Huntingburg, Ind. and Margie Volz of Huntingburg, Ind.; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald (spouse, Debbie Burke) Whipking of Huntingburg, Ind. and Kerry (spouse, Melissa) Whipking of Huntingburg, Ind.; one brother, Thomas Blume of Huntingburg, Ind.; one sister, Anna Marie Scheper of Winchester, Ohio; by (33) grandchildren, (62) great grandchildren and (9) great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Marjorie Whipking will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. Services will be officiated by Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, the day of the funeral. Condolences may be shared online at: www.nassandson.com.
