Robert L. Blackgrave, age 85 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 1:20 p.m. on Saturday (November 19, 2016) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper, Indiana.

robert-blackgraveRobert was born in Jasper, Indiana on June 14, 1931 to Hilbert and Catherine (Dittmer) Blackgrave. He married Norma Bender on September 2, 1978 in St. Marie, Illinois.

Bob retired as a supervisor for Triangle Pacific.

He was U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post #147.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, IN.

He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Preceding him in death were two sisters, Ruth Kern and Bettye Howard, and three brothers, Hilbert Jr., Charles, and William Blackgrave.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert L. Blackgrave will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (November 23, 2016) at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper. The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military gravesite rights.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday (November 22, 2016) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. services at the church on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
