Eugene Leo Stallman, 74 of Mariah Hill died Monday December 19th at Willowdale Village in Dale. He was born March 9, 1942 in Mariah Hill to Emil & Clara C. (Strobel) Stallman. Eugene retired as a foreman and construction worker for Streicher Construction Company in Jasper.

He was a member of Ferdinand American Legion Post 124. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Era. A lifelong member of St. Francis Of Assisi tri-parish, Mary Help Of Christians Church in Mariah Hill. His hobbies were construction & electrical work and he was a hobby farmer. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Albert & Bernard “Bernie” Stallman.

Surviving are 2 brothers, Charles Stallman (Anna Wirth) of Santa Claus, & David (Margie) Stallman of Ferdinand. 1 sister, Emily Stallman of Huntingburg. His caregivers, Eric & Lisa Stallman of Mariah Hill, and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 CDT Thursday in St. Francis Of Assisi, Mary Help Of Christians Church in Mariah Hill. Burial with military graveside rites by Ferdinand Legion Post 124 in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8:00 PM CDT Wednesday & 7 to 9:30 AM CDT Thursday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
