Mabel Nalley, age 91, of Oakland City, passed away at 10:56 a.m., C.S.T., on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

She was born June 26, 1925, in Gibson County, Indiana to Gaines and Rosa (Usery) Nalley. Mabel worked at Gossard’s in Huntingburg for 16 ½ years and then at the Snack Bar, as a clerk, at Oakland City University for 24 years. She was a member of New Liberty General Baptist Church in Coe; enjoyed flowers and gardening; and loved and was proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Milford Nalley, Millard Nalley, Robert Nalley and Warner Nalley; one grandchild, Trevor Nalley; and one great grandchild, Gabe Meece.

She is survived by:

Ray (Marlene) Nalley of Oakland City, Ind.;

by (16) grandchildren, (24) great grandchildren and (1) great-great grandchild.

Funeral services for Mabel Nalley will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at New Liberty Cemetery in Coe, Indiana. Pastor Gary Pancake will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Saturday; and also from 12noon-2:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Sunday.
