Andrew Clarence Schneider, age 72, of Birdseye, passed away at 4:52 a.m., on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born July 1, 1944, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Orville and Bernadette K. (Merkley) Schneider; and was united in marriage to Kathy Cummins in 1995 in Birdseye. Mr. Schneider worked as a tri-axle truck driver in construction; was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville; and enjoyed horseback riding, camping and tractor pulls. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gary Schneider and Orville “Buck” Schneider, Jr.

Mr. Schneider is survived by his wife, Kathy Schneider of Birdseye; one daughter, Angela (Thomas) Gogel of Bretzville; two sons, Mark A. (Vicky) Schneider of New Salisbury, and Jay (Jennifer) Schneider of Schnellville; two brothers, Kenny (Monica) Schneider of Schnellville, and Thomas (Mary) Schneider of Schnellville; four sisters, Marilyn (Morris) Hedinger of St. Anthony, Cathy (George) Tolbert of Paoli, Connie (Randy) Thewes of Celestine, and Doris Haas of Jasper; by nine grandchildren, three step grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Andrew C. Schneider will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville with burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Christopher Droste.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday. A parish rosary prayer vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
