If your American Flag that you fly in the front yard has seen better days then its time to respectfully and properly dispose of the stars and stripes. This Friday evening the Dubois County 4-H Fair grounds will host  a disposal ceremony put on by the Veteran Council.

Keith Ingram President of the Dubois County Veterans Council would like to announce the annual US Flag disposal ceremony will be held on Friday evening June 9th at the Dubois County 4H Fair Grounds beginning at 7:00 pm.

Everyone is invited to bring their worn flags to be properly disposed no matter the size. All Veterans organizations will be represented during this honorable disposal of
our US Flag.

The Recycled Teenagers under the direction of Bernie Jeffries will sing the National Anthem and other patriotic songs. The Pledge of Allegiance will be recited and a ceremony to remember our POW’s and MIA’s will be held. A bugler will play TO THE COLORS and a 21 gun salute will follow to show respect for our Country’s Worn Flags. New flags will be available for purchase at this ceremony.

The DCVC would like to thank the 4H Council to allow the use of their facility, Recycled Teenagers for wanting to participate for this ceremony, Dubois County Block and Brick for supplying blocks for the fire pit and the St. Anthony Fire Department for providing
the safety for this event. Some bleachers will be available or you may bring your lawn chairs for this event.
