Kay Ann Hartke, age 63, of Stendal, passed away at 12:25 p.m., C.D.T., on Monday, July 10, 2017, at the Deaconess V.N.A. Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville.

She was born May 7, 1954, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Alva and Joan (Balsmeyer) Leistner; and was united in marriage to Dordon “Duke” Hartke on January 22, 1977, at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg. Kay worked as a licensed practical nurse; was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Stendal; was active in the Pike County 4-H Club and Lockhart Township Community Center; and enjoyed helping family and friends whenever possible. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dordon “Duke” Hartke, on January 9, 2007; her father, Alva Leistner; and grandparents.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle (Eric) Conway of Stendal; her son, Brandon Hartke of Stendal; her mother, Joan Leistner of Holland; her mother-in-law, Mary Louise Hartke of Stendal; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Richard (Charlene) Leistner of Huntingburg, Ronnie (Carol) Leistner of Holland and Randy (Bobbie) Leistner of Holland; three sisters and three brothers-in-law, Karen (Mark) Lubbehusen of Dale, Connie (Mike) Overbey of Holland and Susie (Rich) Peter of Huntingburg; three grandchildren, Avarie, Carson and Emory; and by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Kay Ann Hartke will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Stendal with burial to follow at St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery. Pastor Ed Wicks will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday; and also at church from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Saturday, prior to the funeral. Condolences may be shared with the family online at: www.nassandson.com
