The Dubois County Sheriff Department released information on the identity of the man found dead yesterday afternoon in a rural Birdseye trailer home. The deceased male has been identified as 49 year old d Darin L. Atkins of Birdseye.

The Dubois County communications center received a 911 call from a female at 1:59 pm yesterday , stating that there was a deceased male at a residence in Jefferson Township in Dubios County. Deputies responded and confirmed that there was a deceased male at the location. An active death investigation was initiated as county deputies called in the assistance of a Indiana State Crime Scene Technician.

New information released to day states that the investigation in to the death is still ongoing and that the County Sheriff’s Department is requesting anyone with information to contact the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department at 812-482-3522.

They can ask for Detective Sgt. Tom Kleinhelter or speak to any deputy that is available. All information can remain anonymous.
