Mary D. Snyder, 89, of Huntingburg, passed away at 8:00 a.m., on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at home.

She was born November 6, 1927, in Sturgis, Michigan to Vernon and Esther (Bloomingdale) Wert; and married John L. Snyder on November 17, 1946, in Coldwater, Michigan. Mary was a homemaker; a bird enthusiast, especially of cardinals; and loved teaching Sunday school. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Hile Wert.

Mary is survived by her husband, Rev. John L. Snyder of Huntingburg; three sons, Gerald (Nancy) Snyder of Waco, Texas, William Bruce (Karen) Snyder of Huntingburg, and Michael (Dawkhmai) Snyder of Pensacola, Florida; sister, Betty Funk of Buchanan, Michigan; by seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mary Snyder will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on July 31, 2017 (Monday), at Calvary Baptist Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. Pastor Justin Halder will officiate at the service. Visitation will take place at Calvary Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., Monday, the day of the funeral.
