Clara Rose Stone, age 84, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 10:26 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at home.

Clara was born in Decatur, Indiana to Ernest and Hazel Gribler.  She married Mearle E. Stone Sr.  on May 20, 1978.  He preceded her in death on December 22, 2008.

Clara worked as an Office Manager for  Lake Clarke Gardens in Florida for approximately 35 years, and then she worked at Buehler’s IGA for 10 years after moving to Jasper.

She was a member of the Jasper Women of the Moose.

She enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are one daughter, Sharon Stone (Mearle Jr.), Stendal, two sons, Jim Manken (Joyce), Celestine, IN, John Manken (Carol), Grove City, MO, two step daughters, Nancy Colvin and Colleen Dollar, both of Williamstown, NJ, four step sons, Mearle Stone Jr. (Sharon), Stendal, IN, Michael Stone (Angie), Pittman, NJ, Danny and Brian Stone, both of West Palm Beach, FL, 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are one step son, Tim Stone, one grandson, Leonard Johnston, three sisters, Edith Roehm, Norma Price,  and Opal Gribler, and two brothers, John and Raymond Gribler.

A Memorial Service held by the Jasper Women of the Moose for Clara Rose Stone will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2017 , at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, with burial to follow at a later date.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. service time at the funeral home on Friday.
